Yvonne Thorsen

Yvonne Thorsen is a guest character on The Rookie, played by Tamala Renée Jones. Yvonne is the mother of character Aaron Thorsen.

Biography[]

Yvonne is married to Lincoln Thorsen, who was part of a popular rap duo in the 1990s, and Aaron is their only child.

Yvonne first appears in "End Game"; it's obvious that she has some influence in the entertainment industry. She arrives at Aaron's job to talk with him about developing a reality television show based on their family, specifically on Aaron's experiences when he was on trial for the murder of his roommate Patrick in France. Aaron refuses to do so, leading to an argument until his training officer Nyla Harper forces him to apologize. Yvonne remarked she liked her.

In "Real Crime", the reality show is filming at the Thorsens' mansion in Beverly Hills when Morris Mackey, producer of the show, is found dead on the premises. Yvonne is later revealed to have had an affair while in Paris, something she kept from her son who is furious. Much later, it is revealed that Aaron was actually framed for Mackey and Patrick's murder by his old friend Rowan Clausen who was arrested after the cops discovered he was smuggling drugs and committed the murders to avoid being caught. In her interview for the documentary, Yvonne is pleased Aaron's name was cleared and has hope he'd forgive her for the affair because their family can overcome it.

  • Aaron mentions in "The Fugitive" that he has several cousins, meaning that Yvonne and possibly her husband have siblings.
  • Tamala Renée Jones, who portrays Yvonne, was a main character on Nathan Fillion's previous series Castle where she portrayed Medical Examiner Lanie Parish.
