Titus Odell Makin Jr. is an American actor and musician. He portrayed Jackson West on The Rookie in seasons 1 through 3.

Biography[]

In his childhood, the family moved frequently; his father was a soldier. Titus began to sing and dance, and at the age of nine he took part in a talent competition at his elementary school. Although he knew he wanted to work in show business, he had not gained any acting experience until graduating from high school in Sierra Vista, Arizona in 2006. After high school, he was accepted to The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. In his first year, he was selected for the New York Knicks Acroback Tumbler, which appeared at a New York Knicks midnight show at Madison Square Garden. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career.

One of his first roles was that of a dancer in an episode of the television series Victorious. In 2010 he appeared as a dancer in two episodes of the soap opera Love, Lies, Passion. In the same year he received a recurring supporting role in the Fox musical series Glee in which he played the role of David until 2012 in ten episodes. In 2011, he starred opposite Lucy Hale and Freddie Stroma as Mickey O'Malley in Cinderella Story - Once upon a time. In addition, he has had guest appearances in The Closer, Grimm and Castle.

In late February 2013, Makin Jr. starred as Lukas in the The CW television series Star-Crossed, which was broadcast on the station between February and May 2014.

As of 2021, Makin Jr. was involved in creating music under his online persona, Butterfly Ali. He did not return for season 4 of The Rookie and his character, Jackson West, was killed in the first season 4 episode.

Makin appeared in an episode of NCIS: Hawai'i, "The Tourist", in November 2021, and is slated to appear in two short films, according to the Internet Movie Database.
