"The Hammer" is the second episode of the sixth season of The Rookie. This is the one-hundredth episode of the series overall.
Summary[]
The team comes together to celebrate John and Bailey’s wedding; meanwhile, Celina discovers a discrepancy in her case, leading to a new discovery. Elsewhere, Lucy and Tim’s relationship is put to the test.[1]
Plot[]
The episode opens with Nolan and Juarez answering a call in a neighborhood about a noise complaint. It is noted that they were specifically selected to answer with Nolan remarking that they must’ve missed the call. However in the house behind him the garage opens to reveal the band (from "Daddy Cop") and they sing their original song. Upon recognizing the song, Nolan gets irritated and starts to advance on the band. Juarez tries to stop him, saying it would be a great opportunity to teach her about deescalating in policing. Nolan says he has this but then a group dressed as a church choir comes out from the side and joins the singing. More band mates show up and play with Juarez smiling and dancing along. Nolan decides to walk away.
At the precinct, Grey reviews the bodycam footage of the song and asks Juarez about the contents. She says she could explain but is unable to answer when pressed.
