Season 4 of The Rookie was announced as a renewal on May 14, 2021; the season premiered on September 26, 2021, and concluded on May 15, 2022.
Summary[]
The fourth season picks up where the last season ended with Angela being taken to Guatemala to be held hostage by La Fiera until the former gives birth, after which La Fiera plans to kill Angela and keep the baby. Sergeant Grey and a team of LAPD take on the dual tasks of finding and rescuing Angela and apprehending a man who killed Jackson West during the kidnapping. As the season progresses, Wesley confronts the consequences of a deal he made with a crime boss, Nolan finally exits the FTO and starts a relationship with Bailey, and Harper takes on a new rookie.
When Season Four concludes, Nolan has been promoted to P2 and has been elected the police union representative; this proves to make his life difficult when his well-meant actions as rep result in retaliation from the head of the union. Nolan's intent to become a Training Officer seem thwarted - for now. He also finds out that his girlfriend Bailey is still married to an abusive husband; together they manage to get him behind bars and divorced.
In other stories, Angela and Wesley welcome their son, Jackson, into the world. Nyla Harper, having discovered that she's pregnant, marries her boyfriend James Murray and aims at working with Angela Lopez in the detectives bullpen in order to minimize risk to her pregnancy.
