Sean Del Monte is a recurring character on The Rookie. He is an Assistant District Attorney for the City and County of Los Angeles. He is played by Michael Trucco.

History[]

Del Monte first appears in "The Shake Up" as he is handing off a witness to the custody of Bradford and Nolan. It's implied that Del Monte knows Nolan's (now ex) girlfriend Jessica Russo, FBI agent.

During "Hit List", he was the prosecutor for a murder case against Matteo Rubio, a crime lord. However, several witnesses end up murdered and Sergeant Grey get attacked by an assailant. He along with Chris Sanford, and the police realized the crime lord had assassins to silence the witnesses. That night, he goes over the case with Sanford, before the building's power shut off. Del Monte searched for Sanford (who was notified by Lucy that the killer was coming) and was warned by him to get down before they were shot at by the assassin. The two survived and managed to evade the killer long enough for the police to arrive and arrest him. Del Monte was shaken by his experience and said he needed a drink. He was presumably able prosecute Rubio once the hitman flipped on him.

In "Labor Day", he hires Wesley Evers as the new ADA thinking that he would do good as a prosecutor. Del Monte later became annoyed when Wesley was unable to find a proper case to prosecute instead letting his DA history cloud his judgment and told him to find a suitable case soon. No sooner does he leave, Wesley was given a case by his wife to prosecute a crew of dirty cops, something he happily took.

During "Mutiny And The Bounty", Del Monte intended to charge Colin Burns who was a member of the criminal gang known as the Eastern Front. Del Monte find himself the target of blackmail after Wesley reveals that he was accosted by a member of that guy sent him footage of his son Logan dealing drugs. He was devastated and merely considered dropping the case in that will just make him vulnerable. Wesley thinks the best outcome is send his son to rehab and let him handle the prosecution. While preparing to send Logan to rehab he is short he’s nervous and protesting son that he and his mother will help him get through this while continuing to support him. Just as they were about to pull off, members of Eastern Front arrive an open fire on them causing Del Monte to shield his son well quickly grabbing his own gun and returning fire. He soon calls the police office situation, and they arrive just in time to detain the shooters. Unfortunately, his son got hit in the fray but is quickly rushed to the hospital with a doctors inform him, he was only grazed but worry Del Monte on the worse if he was really injured. He tells Wesley that he will be withdrawing from the DA race to be there for his son.
