Lucas "Luke" Moran was a minor character on The Rookie. Moran was a serial killer/police hunter who assaulted and participated in the shooting/assault of Aaron Thorsen and Celina Juarez in "Under Siege".

History

Moran is first seen in season 1, episode 11, "Redwood", when Officers Angela Lopez and Jackson West are clearing a building on the route taken by the vice president's motorcade. The officers discover Moran's mother Ruth tied to her wheelchair, alone in his apartment; when confronted, Moran tells them that she's in the early stages of dementia and that he had a job interview.

As described in "Under Siege", Moran ended up in jail for 90 days for elder abuse, during which he says his life was destroyed after his mother died while he was in prison and he was beaten by other inmates. This prompted Moran to seek revenge against the LAPD by attacking Aaron Thorsen and Celina Juarez in an alley, seriously injuring both of them. Moran was later cornered in a basement by Wade Grey, John Nolan, Tim Bradford, and Lucy Chen and shot dead by the four officers after he opened fire on them.
