The Rookie Wiki

Francis Bloomfield is a minor character on The Rookie. He is the son of William Bloomfield, a former millionaire who was incarcerated for fraud and the prime suspect in the murder of his father's cellmate.

History[]

Prior to his debut, his father was a well-known millionaire with Francis and his two younger siblings living a lavish lifestyle that was eventually ended when William was arrested for a Ponzi scheme and fraud. Deprived of his fortune and resentful, Francis and his siblings testified against their father at his trial, causing him to hold a grudge against them.

During "Backstabbers", the LAPD discovered that William's cellmate Brian Shaw was killed after stealing a vase and looking into his history, found his connection to Bloomfield. They soon confirmed the rumors that Bloomfield had stashed money in off-shore bank accounts. Each of the siblings were interrogated, with Francis claiming the vase was sentimental because it was his mother's. Francis also denied knowing why it was stolen. However, he is allowed to leave along with his sister and brother. LAPD noted on how each sibling was lying and were greedy, so they decided to pay a visit to the root: William. When questioned about the vase, it caused him to implicate his children for the theft and murder. William also reveals that a music box has the codes to the fortune along with the vase and says his kids will pursue it and even volunteers to testify against his ungrateful children should he be needed.

After a fire rerouted the train, they head to tracks to discover Danielle and Thackeray struggling over the box. After Thackeray was detained, Francis appeared and stole the box from his sister before fleeing. However, he is soon found and surrenders. He reveals his gun was in his pants, forcing Sgt. Larry Macer to retrieve it with his gloves.

With that, Francis was arrested and interrogated by Angela Lopez if he killed Shaw for the vase but he demands a lawyer. However, Danielle quickly asserts that he did it in exchange for leniency while Thackeray backs her up by mentioning the weapon that he used to do it. Disgusted by their betrayal, Francis told his siblings they suck, as he is hauled off.
