Damian Lopez is a recurring character on The Rookie. He is one of four siblings including Angela Lopez. He devoted his life to Catholicism and became a priest in Los Angeles.
History[]
When he was younger, his father walked out on the family. Angela also mentioned how her brothers bullied her by used to stuff her in a pillowcase and drag her around the neighborhood, leading to her becoming the tough cop she is now. However, they all cared about each other. He became a Priest, who started a nonprofit teaching job skills to former gang members, so gathering as many friends and enemies in the process.
He debuts in "The Fugitive", where he is brought to his sister's job once their mother Emilia is found assaulted on her doorstep by Angela and Wesley. Angela tells Damian and the rest of her brothers they are all under investigation after the assailant stated "Your son is running out of time." All three brothers were represented by their brother-in-law Wesley Evers in an attempt to get one's approval, succeeding in the end. Damian even asked by relaying to Angela about getting his nephew baptized. Later on, some of Damien's supporters bring in a suspect but the latter reveals he was defaming Damian for having an affair with his wife, earning him a reprimand from his sister. He admits his fault, though doesn't think the suspect did it. As it turns out, his brother Benny was the target of this message. He was having money problems, so he turned to a loan shark, who sent an enforcer after his mother. Angela and Harper find the enforcer with the bruise on his face and arrest him. At a family dinner, with Angela and Wesley coming down to join her and the brothers.

- Even though he is a priest, he slept with the wife of one of the church members, which is also against the vow of celibacy taken by Catholic priests.
