Cole Midas is a minor character on The Rookie. He is the prime suspect in the murder of Captain Zoe Andersen. He is portrayed by Grant Harvey.
Background[]
His father is Leonard "King" Midas who was the leader of the Southern Front, the sixth largest gang in the state of California. Cole followed in his father's footsteps by joining his gang. After the latter's arrest, Cole took over as the leader.
History[]
During Green Light, Cole and his gang were told by Astrid, Cole's girlfriend that Officer John Nolan unintentionally disrespected Midas's girlfriend during an earlier arrest, with her demanding that he be punished. As a result, Cole put in a fake phone call and ambush Officer John Nolan and Captain Zoe Andersen, taking the two to an area overlooking a swimming pool, where the two awake to find themselves sitting in chairs with their arms bound with Cole and his men surrounding them. When Andersen is kicked into the pool, she manages to escape, breaking a bone in her left hand in the process before she swims to the surface, disposing of Cole Midas's underlings. However, Cole shoots Andersen through the neck, killing her. The horrified Nolan quickly dives in the pool to try to save her, while Cole takes the chance to escape. Nolan tries to resusciate Andersen, but she sadly dies. Nolan remains there with his dead Captain's body as Grey, Chen, West, Lopez, Bradford and Bishop along with other LAPD officers arrive at the house. Nolan sadly informs Grey, "It was Cole."
Knowing the heat was on for killing a cop, Cole tries to flee LA, but his father gives up his location, so that his life is spared. As Cole exits the city, he is boxed in and ordered by Grey to surrender. Seeing their number and the killing intent in their eyes, he quickly complies and Nolan is sent to cuff him while he begs them not to take him into custody because he would likely be doomed for Andersen's death. However, Nolan assured him that the woman he killed taught them better. Nolan then slammed Cole against the car for his actions. He is subsequently charged for his crimes of kidnapping and murder of a cop.
