ClipTalk is a social media app in The Rookie that seems to function like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram Reels. In some episodes, it also looks to be an infinite scroll feed, like Twitter/X or Threads.
Due to copyright and other legal issues, the production of The Rookie decided to stop using “TikTok” as a central social media platform in the further episodes. In season 4, ClipTalk was first mentioned as “a new social-media app” by Lucy Chen .

- ClipTalk also has a sell function like Facebook Marketplace. In “A.C.H.”, Pete Nolan buys the drug Bomb-X from ClipTalk to help the LAPD with an important case.
- ClipTalk is sometimes useful for the LAPD to search for suspects using its hashtags. It is clear that using popular hashtags is easier to find important recent sources, which is sometimes ideal for detective cases.
- As of September 2024, "ClipTalk" is an actual Android app.
