Cesar Madrigal was a minor character on The Rookie. He was the son of Tomás Madrigal, a cartel leader and was responsible for the death of La Fiera's son Diego. He was portrayed by Jason Canela.
Biography[]
He first appears in "Brave Heart", where he visits his ailing father. Cesar was described as a loose cannon who lacked conviction and was more focused on partying. Cesar later discovered his father intended to bestow the organization to fellow cartel head La Fiera, becoming outraged he was denied his birthright and decided to strike back by killing La Fiera's son Diego, despite him being an innocent.
During "Triple Duty", he has gone into hiding while preparing for his retaliation against La Fiera before Bradford and John Nolan arrive there. The pair warn him but he is confident that he can handle La Fiera, refusing to hand over the organization that was rightfully his. He mockingly asks where she so he could “pay respects” but they do not answer and leave. Cesar later visits his lover and spends time with her and their infant son, before departing. Unknown to him, La Fiera discovered his family's existence and targeted them but they were saved by Bradford and Nolan.
